Almond in a glass ceramics are made in Amsterdam by Carly Wollaert, using wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Carly has been under the spell of the craft of ceramics since 2019, addicted to the freedom of being able to create almost anything she’d like by turning clay into a vessel. Hours fly by when she gets into a meditative state of throwing or handbuilding.

For Carly, the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics is key. In her own life, she’s very particular in using specific objects for different occasions, as she feels they contribute to the experience- every occasion, dish or drink asks for certain shapes, colours and tactility. She believes joy is to be found in the small things, and for her, being mindful in choosing the things we surround ourselves with contributes to that. She hopes many nourishing moments for the mind body and soul will be spent whilst using her ceramics.
