Dalit Goods was launched in 2010 by the UK charity Life Association to raise both awareness and funds to support the Dalit community of India, often referred to as the "untouchables." The idea was born after a visit to Mumbai, where we noticed broken clay drinking pots scattered around the slums. For centuries, Dalit people have been forced to use these pots, which are smashed after use to reinforce their oppression and so-called untouchability. This powerful symbol of injustice became the inspiration behind Dalit Goods. Our mission is to design and supply ethically sourced, eco-friendly products while creating sustainable employment opportunities for Dalits across India. For over 25 years, Life Association has built schools and children’s homes for Dalit families, and every purchase supports this ongoing work all products are rooted in dignity, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility.
